Join us for Nervous System (Improv)ement—an in-person mental health group, using gentle improv for adults to support emotional regulation.
About this Event

This in-person, 8-week group is intended to help foster nervous system and emotional regulation through improv, play, psychoeducation and community building.

Dates: Monday, April 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM MST

Location: 1345 Ward Rd., Suite 206, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033

Cost: $40 per group or may be covered by insurance (please call for more information)

This group is for adults (18+) who are:

  • Experiencing stress, overwhelm, or difficulty staying present under pressure.
  • Seeking regulation (NOT performance).
  • Wanting to try something new and fun!

What you will learn:

  • How our bodies respond to stress and overwhelm.
  • How to recognize and expand your "Window of Tolerance."
  • Why regulation and joy are essential to healing (not just coping).
  • How to build awareness of your internal experience (body, thoughts, emotions).
  • Practical ways to stay present in real time--even under pressure.

Facilitators:

Nicholle Harris (LSW) brings over 20 years of theater experience and is a seasoned improviser. Improv has been a pivotal part of her journey, helping her cultivate community, perseverance, self-trust, and confidence. She performs, produces, teaches, and coaches improv at Rise Comedy in Denver, Colorado, and is passionate about connecting this art form to joyful healing.

Nicholle is a Licensed Social Worker and Mental Health Counselor at the Front Range Family Resource Center (FRFRC). She also served for 16 years as an intelligence analyst with the United States Air Force and the Department of Defense. Drawing from these diverse experiences, Nicholle is dedicated to fostering connection, joy, and healing with adults from a wide range of backgrounds and life stories.

Ariana Griffith (LPC) is a Mental Health Counselor and passionate about the connection between creativity and mental health as a way to make meaning out of one's experiences, find healthy ways of coping with challenges, and turning difficult emotions into art.

Ariana's background and training is in Counseling Psychology and Theatre and she trained and performed with Upright Citizens Brigade and The Peoples Improv Theatre in New York City. The rules of improv continue to be an integral part of her compass for living, and she is excited to be able to combine improv with mental health tools to help others practice play.
