Preventive Controls for Human Food Training
About this Event
We require a minimum of 10 registrants; if this minimum is not met, the class will be canceled.
The Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Training, hosted by Clemson University Cooperative Extension, provides essential instruction for complying with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)—the most significant reform of U.S. food safety laws in over 70 years.
The FSPCA was established to help the food industry meet the requirements of the Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule. This course has been recognized by the FDA as the standardized curriculum for this rule. Successful completion satisfies one of the key requirements for becoming a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
Under the Preventive Controls for Human Food Rule, a PCQI is responsible for performing or overseeing:
- Development of the Food Safety Plan
- Validation of preventive controls
- Review of records
- Reanalysis of the Food Safety Plan
This hands-on training equips participants with the knowledge and tools to develop and document a compliant Food Safety Plan tailored to their specific operations.
Interactive breakout sessions will guide participants in:
- Identifying and preventing food safety hazards
- Monitoring hazard control procedures
- Establishing effective preventive controls
- Documenting and verifying food safety practices
