Join Clemson Extension to learn about the Carolina Yards Program and finalize the installation of a new demonstration garden in Pendleton.
About this Event

Join Clemson Extension on Friday, September 11th from 10 AM - 2PM to learn about the Carolina Yards Program and how to certify your yard, and help install a few of the 12 Carolina Yards Principles. Lunch will be provided to participants, please be sure to select an "add on" for your lunch choice when registering. If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know atleast 10 days in advance.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Native Plants
  • Rain Barrels
  • Wildlife Enhancements
  • Drip Irrigation Installation
  • Composting & Mulching

The half-day workshop will include hands-on experience in native plantings, soil amendments, and discussion on site assessment and maintenance considerations.

Time: Check-in begins at 9:30am, the workshop will take place from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.

Location: 102 History Lane Pendleton, SC 29670

Target audience: Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, landscape professionals, garden club members, educators, general public, local residents

Boxes lunches will be provided


Participants must dress to dig, amend soil, and spread mulch. Please wear clothes that can be washed and wear closed-toed shoes. A hat, sunscreen, and a refillable water bottle are also recommended. Gloves and tools will be provided.
