What does Abraham Lincoln have to do with the Thanksgiving holiday we celebrate today?

Step back in time with the Historical Society of Forest Park and Forest Park Baptist Church for a special evening with Abraham Lincoln. Kevin Wood will perform as President Lincoln, sharing the story of Lincoln and Thanksgiving and the remarkable circumstances surrounding his decision to establish a national day of Thanksgiving during the Civil War. opening remarks by Josh Fulton, PhDProfessor of History, Moraine Valley Community College.

After the presentation, President and Mrs. Lincoln will be available for photographs, giving you a chance to meet the Lincolns yourself.

Explore displays of Civil War artifacts and learn about Forest Park’s connections to the Civil War era.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The presentation begins at 6:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
