About this Event
Join on April 11th from 9-12pm, to help us clear the trails at Nelson Woods!
What we’ll be doing:
Volunteers will help us to maintain and clear hiking trails at this preserve for future use! Participants will walk the trails to remove debris, using tools like loppers and handsaws to clear vegetation and branches. Nelson Woods is currently closed as we continue development to open the preserve later this year, but volunteers will have access during this event!
Those under 15 must have a parent present or a chaperone. This event is recommended for ages 10 and up.
What to bring:
Gloves, water, safety glasses, and loppers and/or handsaws. We will be working outside, so please dress accordingly for the event and weather. Closed toed shoes are required. Little Forks Conservancy will provide trail tools and safety glasses to those who need them.
Location, Directions, and Time:
The preserve is located off Sandow Road, which is off of M-20. Head north on Sandow Road until you get to Solomon Road. The preserve is on the corner of Solomon and Glen Road. Attendees can park on Solomon or Glen Road. A LFC staff member will be waiting at the trailhead to direct and guide volunteers.
