Presenting Noman’s Night Flight as part of the Bristol Refugee Festival
About this Event
His name in Arabic means "man with all the blessings of God." In English, it reads as No Man. The confusion, he says, is divine irony.
Noman's Night Flight continues Bristol Sanctuary Theatre's admired production Noman's Land, first presented at Bristol Beacon. It follows Noman – a young man from Mosul, a refused asylum seeker on a surreal night journey through the wreckage of his own history.
Along the way he encounters fellow refugees, medieval knights, the ghosts of those who drowned in the Channel, and the cynical politicians who turned his suffering into the precious electoral currency.
Visually striking, musically rich, and rooted in the real experiences of people displaced by war, Noman's Night Flight is theatre that refuses to look away. It amplifies voices too often silenced – and asks its audience to look and listen.
A work-in-progress performance.
