We are running a practice emergency scenario to activate our Community Emergency Hub (CEH) at Gribblehirst. We encourage members who regularly use the Hub, group leaders, and helpful locals who live within walking distance of the Hub to attend this session. Facilitated by Auckland Emergency Management (AEM), this workshop will involve some role playing and activities to build confidence for a real emergency.

Different from a Civil Defence Centre (CDC), a CEH is run by the community to support each other during an emergency. The vision for our CEH is to provide space for people to meet up, get information, use the kitchen or shower, get a hot drink, or just find a bit of respite during opening hours. The success of our CEH will depend on strong community connections, visibility and awareness of the Hub, and good communication with our neighbours.
