An evening of screenings and presentations about the Glen arising from public engagements In the Glen RIver Park.
Did you attend any Gleann a'Phúca events? If so you may have contributed tot eh Spoon and Bloom animation which will premiere this evening, or your presence may be felt in Elinor Rivers' Ordinary Gifts presentation where she reflects on a series of engagents with the waters of the park . This will be your chance to see the premier of the River film commissioned by Gleann a' Phúca in a unique collaboration from artist/filmaker Dervla Baker and artist/composer Neil Quigly. And if you didnt get to any of the events this will be your chance to see some of the outcomes from a year long programme of creative adventures in the park.
The Spoon and Bloom animation features stories from particpants in workshops across the year. From the first mapping workshop to the Dog's Nose View, to the Botanical Odyssey to a Step Into the past, come and feast your eyes and ears on echoes from the Glen

River a short film by Dervla Baker and Neil Quigley
River is a short film by Dervla Baker and Neil Quigley, inspired by the diverse history of the Glen River Valley—a glacial landscape that has served as a mill, quarry, residential area, and is currently designated as a public park. The film follows the river’s path as it winds through the remnants of these environments, from stone-lined channels to marshy floodplains and man-made concrete weirs and culverts. Using contemporary visual and audio techniques, River invites the audience to reflect on what the river can reveal to us about its surroundings, exploring themes of sustainability, transformation, and who benefits from these shifts. The film serves as a sensory exploration of the river’s enduring narrative.
Elinor rivers will deliver a performance presentation, Ordinary Gifts , about our interactions with water, and its influence on us, informed by an excursion with Botanist/herbalist, Jo Goodyear; a May dance with the pucaí led by folklorist Jenny Butler; some entanglements with the Dripsey Monsters - come and hear all about it and perhaps be in for some surprises.
