The holiday season is about love and kindness, generosity and gratitude. But sometimes the quest to find the perfect gift or host the best party leads to more stress than serenity. This year, kick off the holiday season in festive style at the annual Holiday Bazaar at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha). Find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list and stock up on baked goods for parties or last-minute house guests. Local artists will offer a wide variety of handcrafted goods, including one-of-a-kind jewelry, wood crafts and pottery; handmade soaps and lotions; hand-knit hats, mittens, blankets and other goods; pies, cookies and other baked items; holiday wreaths; and fabric bags, aprons and skirts from African Women Empowered. Our Gift Shop also will offer wind chimes, Prairiewoods T-shirts, and books on ecology and spirituality; fresh-cut greenery bundles or swags from the Prairiewoods’ grounds; monastery candy from the Trappist Nuns of the Mississippi Abbey; and gift certificates for any dollar amount. We’ll also have coffee, warm apple cider and sweet treats available to purchase, so grab your friends and family and get into the spirit of the season while supporting local artists!
