Take a break from your busy holiday schedule to create a meaningful, one-of-a-kind gift bag to give to someone special! During this creative afternoon at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha), we will learn about Peaceful Patterns, often called doodles or tangles, which are detailed black-and-white drawings created by repeating simple patterns. Then we’ll use fine artist’s pens to draw our very own Peaceful Patterns on a paper gift bag that will add a personal touch to any holiday gift. This will be a fun, creative workshop, so bring your best friend or family to create together! No experience or artistic skill is necessary. Facilitator Andi Lewis, Prairiewoods’ marketing coordinator, has bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism and women’s studies from Northwestern University. She has worked as a TV reporter and producer, the operations director for a professional organizing service, and a textbook writer and editor. Andi and her husband, Steve, moved here from Chicago in 2011 so she could work at Prairiewoods and be closer to family. Andi enjoys all arts and crafts, good food and wine, reading, working on her home, and playing with her dogs. The cost of this creative workshop is $15 and includes all art supplies.
