This race celebrates all that is good in trail running. A beautiful spot in Lincoln, NE. A great community of people. An organization in the Pioneer Park Nature Center that does incredible things getting young people curious about the outdoors. The Nature Center’s trail runs are a series of races geared towards runners of all experiences and expectations. With a range of distances, a person can push themselves as much as they want with how far or fast they go.A 1-mile kids (12 and under) run will get the younger runners a taste of the prairie trails. A 5k will hit a number of landmarks, and still get you home for Saturday morning cartoons. A 25K will take you 2.5 times around the prairie. Lincoln’s first 50k will be an opportunity for ultra curious people to experience a marathon plus distance. For more experienced ultra runners, you can chase a fast time.
The course is run completely on prairie trails. While the footing is rutted, it is not technical. With minimal out and back, this big loop will allow you to plan for people and aid stations every 3-4 miles.
