From eagles and hawks to crows, owls, turkeys, geese, and more, birds are important to many indigenous nations and in many ways. Eagles and hawks may be relatives bringing messages of hope or warning. Owls may be harbingers of knowledge or death (or both). And many birds may be used as medicines in traditional native ceremonies. We’ll discuss both native knowledge and more recent science about these local bird friends. Join Renee Sans Souci, Michael W. Wolfe, Sr., and Jason "the Birdnerd" to learn more about these birds as we celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Program is free but registration preferred as space is limited.
