About this Event
Spend the afternoon with us, learning what it feels like to experience poverty in our community.
What is a Poverty Immersion Experience?
A Poverty Immersion Experience is designed to help people understand the challenges and realities faced by those living in poverty. It allows users to experience, in a controlled setting, the difficult decisions and struggles people in poverty might face.
What can I expect at this event?
Each attendee will take on the identity of a person living in poverty. You will then interact with others to carry out your daily business - such as going to work and feeding your family - with limited resources. In doing so, you will navigate systems and learn about the difficult decisions people living in poverty face every day.
This event is presented by Reclaim and facilitated by WSU Metropolitan Center for Applied Research and Extension
