Camcycle invites you to join us for an evening with transport journalist and author Laura Laker, as she discusses her book Potholes and Pavements: A Bumpy Ride on Britain’s National Cycle Network. Book now at camcycle.org.uk/lauralakerPart travelogue, part history and also a call for action for better cycling, the book combines Laura’s explorations of sections of the 13,000 network with her discussions with those working for change. She looks at the passionate people who brought the network to life and the volunteers that maintain it and campaign for new links today, as well as weaving a manifesto for what is needed to truly make the UK a cycling nation.
Laura will talk at the Town and Gown pub and theatre in Cambridge city centre on Thursday 6 March from 7-9pm. There will be opportunities for questions as well as a chance to meet Camcycle staff and members and find out more about what we do. You can enjoy food and drink as you listen to the talk and buy copies of the book afterwards.
It’s going to be an inspiring event – join us!
