Portsmouth International Kite Festival returns to Southsea Common on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2026.
Join us from 10am to 5pm each day for a free weekend of spectacular kite displays, family activities, live entertainment and seaside fun.
As part of Portsmouth100, this year's festival celebrates 100 Kites for 100 Years. Watch hundreds of kites fill the skies above Southsea Common, including giant inflatable creations, artistic designs and breathtaking precision flying displays from some of the UK's leading kite flyers and international guests.
Alongside the flying displays you'll find:
• Free children's kite-making workshops
• Activities from Seekers Create
• BH Live family activities
• Library bus visits
• Funfair rides
• Craft and community stalls
• Food and drink vendors
• Specialist kite traders
Live music will be taking place throughout the weekend thanks to Live at the Bandstand.
The event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.
