Portsmouth Piano Circle Charity Concert
Please join us for a special afternoon of live classical music, performed by talented local musicians and raising funds for charity.
Set in the intimate surroundings of the Menuhin Room at Portsmouth Central Library, this annual community concert brings together members of the Portsmouth Piano Circle, who meet regularly to perform, share their love of music and develop their musical skills.
The varied and exciting programme will include Franck’s Violin Sonata, Beethoven’s Tempest Sonata (movement 3), Addinsell’s much-loved Warsaw Concerto and a beautiful piano transcription of the first and third movements of Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2, alongside Ravel's Pavane, Bryan Kelly's Flute Suite, Flor Peeters Trumpet Sonata, Amy Beach, Oskar Rieding and more**.
The pianists will perform on the Menuhin Room’s magnificent Steinway Model D concert grand piano, offering audiences the chance to hear this exceptional instrument at close quarters.
Admission is free and donations are welcome. This year’s chosen charity will be announced shortly.
** Subject to time, this programme may feature Mozart's Rondo in Am and Selections from Bach's Suites.
