Portrait, Figure & Movement: 2 Day Drawing Intensive

From static portraiture to dynamic movement, you'll explore essential techniques that bring your drawings to life.

What you’ll learn:

This complete 2 day course covers the foundations of portraiture and the energy of gestural drawing. Working with a variety of dry materials including charcoal, soft pastels, and ink, you'll develop skills in capturing both the detail of the face and the dynamism of the body in motion.

Beginner Friendly:

No experience necessary! This beginner-friendly course includes all materials, full tuition, and a model - everything you need to get started. Whether you’re new to drawing or looking to develop your skills, Phil and Ellie will guide you throughout the 2 days.

ITINERARY:

Day 1: The Portrait
Focus on the static portrait, experimenting with pencil, charcoal and pastels. Learn essential techniques in measuring, proportions, and tonal work to create compelling portrait studies.

Day 2: Figure & Movement
Work from a life model in the morning, followed by dynamic poses with a dancer to develop your gestural drawing skills. We’ll be working with ink or your preferred material to gain experience in drawing movement and energy.

Cost:

£120 for the full weekend

£70 for one day

All materials included. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Please bring your own lunch.
