An opportunity for the family to join the members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers on the Wells Cathedral Green on Wednesday 12th August 6pm to 8:30pm to safely observe the surface and atmosphere of your nearest star, the Sun.
This free event allows the public to wander up and use a range of special telescopes configured so you can view the Sun without damaging your eyesight. Under the guidance of members of Wells & Mendip Astronomers you'll see sunspots, faculae, filaments, and solar prominences.
The event is weather dependent.
