We are excited to offer this family night experience! We look forward to seeing our repeat families and meeting our new ones.

This is the first of a series of family night that are educational programs sponsored by Randolph County 4-H to assist youth in developing essential life skills while having fun and growing closer to their families!

At least one of the children must also be enrolled in 4-H online and enrollment must take place prior to attending the workshop

In this quick, interactive session, families will discover the fundamental differences between sweet corn, field corn, and popcorn—and explore the magic physics behind "the big pop." We’ll step inside the kernel to see how trapped water, heat, and pressure combine to create the ultimate crunch. It’s a fast, fun, and fascinating look at how a tiny seed from the field becomes the star of your snack bowl!

Info: Ready, set, sprinkle! Now it’s time for families to put on their chef hats and take over the Seasoning Station. You’ll get a ticking clock and a full pantry of spices, herbs, and sweet surprises to invent your own custom popcorn blend. Measure, shake, and tweak your recipe until it’s perfected, then invent a show-stopping name for your signature creation. Will your family go for fiery hot, savory-herby, or sweet and dangerous? The clock is ticking—let’s see what you can blend!

Taste Test Smackdown

Info: Time’s up—hand over the shakers! Now for the best part of the night: the ultimate community crunch. Each family will step up to pitch their signature blend and reveal its unforgettable name. Then, the floor opens for a roving taste test! Grab a fresh cup of popped corn, sample your neighbors' wild creations, and vote on the most creative, the most delicious, and the most daring flavor blends in the room. Who will take home the title of 4-H Top Flavor Master? It’s time to taste and tell!
