Join the Asheboro Fire Department and surrounding public safety agencies as we honor the heroes and victims of September 11, 2001.
For over two decades, Americans have united to remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown on that day. The 9/11 Memorial Ruck is our way of carrying that memory forward—one step at a time.
Whether you choose to complete the full 9.11-mile route, walk a portion of it, or simply come out to support those participating, we invite our community to join us in honoring the fallen and the first responders who answered the call.
🎒 What is a Ruck?
A ruck is simply a walk while carrying a weighted backpack. Carrying weight is completely optional—everyone is welcome, whether you ruck, walk, or cheer participants on.
