I am a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) graduate running BetterGrapes wine tasting group:

The group is a place to meet fellow expat wine lovers and broaden your knowledge on wine. We taste carefully selected non-trivial wine sets centered around a certain topic. I am not affiliated with any distributor and pick my lineups based on quality.

In case you are new to the whole thing of themed and guided wine tastings, I thought I would walk you through it.
We start with a brief introduction to put the whole thing into context, so this time we will learn how Poland as a wine producing area sits within European winemaking, touching the topics of climate, grape varieties, regions, appellations (or the lack thereof in case of Poland) and wine styles we encounter here in general.
We then proceed with the evening’s wines, tasting and discussing them relative to the winemakers’ personalities and the choices they make both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
We also focus on the topic of wine and food pairing and there are always snacks selected to complement the wines we taste.
Hosting a great mix of people who have various levels of experience with wine, we try to leave enough space for everyone to ask questions, share impressions and mingle with fellow tasters.
These types of events offer only carefully selected wines, thus saving you a lot of time and disappointment when choosing bottles in wine stores.
At our Best of Polish Wines Vol. I event last Saturday, everyone was caught by surprise by the level of each wine in the set.
