Point of Care Ultrasound for Generalist Doctors
Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) increasingly offers the opportunity for clinicians to improve:
- Diagnostic accuracy
- Efficiency of assessment
- Effectiveness of interventions
This workshop, delivered by POCUS-qualified clinicians at the Launceston General Hospital, will focus on an introduction to practical POCUS skills for general practitioners in Northern Tasmania.
POCUS skills developed include:
- Basic lung ultrasound
- Scanning for DVTs
- Vascular access
- Musculoskeletal
- Early pregnancy
A variety of ultrasound machines will be on hand, with volunteer patient models to support you to develop your POCUS practice.
- Or bring your own US device if you have one and would like to try it out!
This workshop will start promptly at 5.30pm and will finish at 8pm.
