The poetry of World War One is rightly treasured as an important contribution both to history and the arts. But what about the poetry of World War Two?Join us for the world premiere of filmmaker Peter Williams’ new film, Poets' War, which focuses on the lives and experiences of two poets who fought at, and survived D-Day in June 1944: the British Vernon Scannell, subsequently a poet-in-residence at the King's School, Canterbury, and American Louis Simpson, Guggenheim Fellow and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1964.
The 1-hour screening will be following by a discussion with poet, author and educationalist, Pie Corbett.
