About this Event
Sana Wazwaz is a Palestinian American writer, spoken word poet, and theater artist based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her work has appeared in Black Warrior Review, Water~Stone Review, Hayden's Ferry Review, The Ghassan Kanafani Arts Anthology, Overtly Lit, and Literary Hub. Her spoken word poem, “sand path that’ll lead the refugees home,” was selected to be displayed at the Colorado College Fine Arts Center’s Muslim Futurism Exhibit in 2024.
Tarik Dobbs (b. 1997, Dearborn, MI) is a writer, artist, and Poetry Foundation Ruth Lilly & Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellow. Poems by Dobbs have been featured in the anthologies Best New Poets and Heaven Looks Like Us, as well as in AGNI, American Poetry Review, and Poetry Magazine, among others. Dobbs is the director of poetry.onl and has served as a guest editor at Mizna and Zoeglossia: A Community for Poets with Disabilities.
Moheb Soliman is an interdisciplinary poet from Egypt and the Midwest. He has degrees from The New School for Social Research and the University of Toronto, and was Program Director for the Arab American lit and film organization Mizna before receiving a multi-year Tulsa Artist Fellowship and, most recently, a Milkweed Editions fellowship. His debut poetry collection HOMES (Coffee House Press, 2021), about nature, modernity, identity, belonging, and sublimity through the site of the Great Lakes bioregion/borderland, was a Minnesota Book Awards and Heartland Booksellers Award finalist and showcased in Ecotone Journal and Poets & Writers.
This event is free. Moheb Solimans debut poetry collection, HOMES, as well as Tarik Dobbs' debut poetry collection, Nazar Boy (2024) will be for sale at the event.
