This November, the Grand Ballroom becomes a stage for poets and writers.
We’re beginning a new poetry series at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, and we’d like you to be part of it from the first night. Bring a poem, a page, or a few minutes of something you’ve written. Or simply come to listen.
HOST
Jill Stukenberg is an English professor at UW–Stevens Point and co-editor of Midwest Review. Her debut novel, News of the Air, won the Big Moose Prize and was published by Black Lawrence Press in 2022. She is a Wisconsin Teaching Fellow.
FEATURED READERS
Mai Kao Hang, Wausau Poet Laureate
Freesia McKee, poet and assistant professor of English at UW–Stevens Point
THE EVENING
Featured readings, an open mic, and a short closing conversation about what this series should become. We’d like it to be shaped by the writers and listeners who come, so your ideas are welcome.
Free and open to all. Donations are gratefully welcomed. A cash bar will be available. Please, no outside food or beverages.
The Grand Ballroom is on the second floor of the building. Elevator access is available.
