About this Event
As part of our celebration of National Poetry Month, Poet Krissy Kludt will be in conversation with Dean Rader about her debut poetry collection I Could Walk Forever and Know So Little. Set among the oak-dotted hills and granite heights of northern California, this collection distills moments of communion with the natural world into spare, lilting language. The poems traverse ordinary days and periods of loss; they are elegy and wish. They examine motherhood and daughterhood and turn to the living land as source of solace and nurturing.
These poems are "rooted deep in the earth Kludt so abundantly loves"(J. Drew Lantham), making them the perfect reading complement for celebrating Earth Day.
Krissy Kludt is the founder and executive director of Writing the Wild. Her work appears in Taking Liberties (Cutthroat 2025), The Nature of Our Times, Humana Obscura, The Wildness We Tend, Tremblings, and Stories from the Trail (Wayfarer Books 2024).
Dean Rader is a San Francisco-based poet, essayist, translator and critic. He is a professor at the University of San Francisco, the creator of the popular video series Poems That Changed Me, and a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow in poetry.
