POETRY AND ECOSOCIALISM

Come to a fantastic night of building community and discussing politics, while listening to the most talented and opinionated poets in Brum!

Poetry & Ecosocialism is an event created to bring people together, learn more about Ecosocialism and ask questions. You will have the opportunity to speak to members of Anti*Capitalist Resistance about who we are and what we do to take steps towards a more loving and generous society. We will have speakers who have travelled from London to talk to you about Ecosocialism, Anti*Capitalist Resistance, and answer any questions you may have. We also want to hear from you! This event will be set up a little like a networking event, without the “trying to sell yourself” aspect. We want people in Birmingham to meet like-minded lefties so we can start working together to make change.

We have some amazing and well-known Brummie poets in our line up, including the hilariously clever award-winning Bradley Taylor, as well as the incredible Aliyah Begum, Bilal Akram, Ryan Dre Sinclair, and Vig.

We will also be joined by Simon Hannah, author of Reclaiming the Future - a recent book on how an ecosocialist society would work. You can read a review here.

Anti*Capitalist Resistance has a publishing press called Resistance Books. At this event, you will have the opportunity to look at a selection of our books and articles and purchase some if you want.

This event is Pay-What-You-Can. All proceeds will go to covering costs and any left over will donate to Anti*Capitalist Resistance to continue the fight for justice and revolutionary socialism all over the world.
