Join us every 2nd Wednesday of the month at The Africa Centre for our monthly Poetry Evening : Poetic Temple x The Africa Centre powered by P.O. ET. S (People Of ExtraTerrestrial Substance) Poetic Temple event as seen at H Club, Shoreditch House and The Queen of the South.
An evening dedicated to high level poetry and for lovers of the intricate play of words woven upon a page and spoken to evoke inspiration and motivation.
P. O. ET. S are People Of ExtraTerrestrial Substance. Created by Stella Bee in 2021. They are characters who represent the unique and special gifts we all possess in the realm of creativity.
Come to jump in the open mic or just enjoy the evening,
Expect warm vibes, amazing poetry performances, as hosts Nat Nye the Lyrical Alkhemist and Stella B guide you through the journey.
Every month is a new theme as well! The first being People of ExtraTerrestrial Substance!

The Africa Centre is a BEAUTIFUL space showcasing works from talented artists, serving Senegalese food by Little Baobab and drinks from a bar created by Maquis. You can enjoy great food, have a little sip of your fancy and be swept away by some high level word sound power. We recommend booking the restaurant in advance.
Bring your favourite poem to share in the first half then join us in the theme of the event in the second half otherwise be wowed by the Spoken Word as you soak in the unique vibes.
In addition, you can lock in the memory with your very own merch; 20% of all ticket and merch sales will go towards the Africa Centres current fundraising campaign to raise £6million to secure the charity for generations to come.
Raffle and Africa Centre Fundraiser
As a part of the current campaign to raise £6 million for the Africa Centre, Artist Stella B has offered her limited edition of the powerfully emotive Pyramids of Kush Kandake Amanirenas print to be entered into a prize draw.
20% of all tickets sold will go towards The Africa Centre including a special raffle entry ticket which gives you 5 raffle tickets!
We also have merchandise available to buy. 20% of all P. O. ET. S and prints from artist Stella B sold on the night will also go to The Africa Centre.

Stella B and Nat Nye the Lyrical Alkhemist, known as a Power Couple, are Entrepreneurs, Presenters, Artists (Stella B - multi-disciplinarian artist - singer-songwriter, spoken word artist, dance, acting); (Nat Nye the Lyrical Alkhemist - spoken word poet) and Creative Consultants. They have put on their own events Poetic Temple (at private members club: Hospital Club) Out Of Noise (The Ritzys).
