Gather with P'nai Or Philadelphia, a Jewish Renewal Congregation to share the spiritual journey of the High Holydays of 5726/2026 together, in-person and Zoom.
We welcome back ALEPH Rabbinical Student Sue Swartz and Cantorial Leader Daniella Forstater, accompanied by renowned musician Dave Posmontier who will guide us through the gentle heart-opening times of the New Year.
Our High Holydays are your place to:
- Immerse in beloved P’nai Or traditions—Hebrew and English liturgy, original music, and quiet moments for contemplation—along with fresh ways to deepen our journey through the Days of Awe.
- Be welcomed. Whether you're a regular, it's your first time, or you're just wondering what the Days of Awe actually are, there's a place for you here. No special knowledge required.
- Rest and renew
- Come as you are- with your laughter, your tears, your questions, your hopes, your beautiful singing voice—or the one only you can appreciate
- Stay for a few minutes or the whole service. Whatever your background, we're happy to have you with us.
LOCATION
We will gather in person in our spacious High Holyday room at Summit Presbyterian Church, 6757 Greene Street, West Mt. Airy, Philadelphia (at the corner of Westview and Greene).
The entrance on Westview is wheelchair accessible.
REGISTRATION
Pre-registration is required for everyone, whether attending in person or on Zoom. High Holydays are included with membership. To join, click here.
There is no registration for our Zoom Selichot gathering on Sept 5 or the Tashlich service at Saylor Grove on Sept 12.

All times are Eastern Daylight Time. All services are in-person and on Zoom.
In-person services are held upstairs in Summit Church, 6757 Greene Street, Philadelphia, PA. Enter around the corner on Westview Ave.
All services are fully wheelchair accessible.
A few days before the holidays, Zoom links will be sent to those who have registered.
SELICHOT

Zoom only.
A musical and reflective ritual to begin the spiritual preparation for the New Year.

- A joyful, music-filled gathering with singing, candle-lighting, Kiddush, apples & honey.

- 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM – Rosh Hashanah Services (Days 1 & 2)

TASCHLICH
A family-friendly ritual of casting off the past year’s burdens.
Saturday, Sept. 12
- 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM
- Held at Saylor Grove Park, at the intersection of Wissahickon Ave and W. Rittenhouse St near West Mt. Airy
Directions to Saylor Grove Park:
- Saylor Grove is bordered by Wissahickon Ave, Lincoln Drive and Rittenhouse Street.
- A walkway is accessible on the Rittenhouse side
- There are benches, a small bridge and running water which is filtered by wetland plants and wildlife
- Parking is available right next to the park on Rittenhouse and up the hill past the gas station

KOL NIDRE
Sunday, Sept. 20
● 5:00 PM – Preparation Rituals: Offering tzedakah, writing personal Al-Chet (I have missed the mark) prayers, and candle lighting. Wearing white is encouraged.

A day of atonement and deep spiritual work
Monday, Sept. 21

- Opportunities for meditation, conversation and movement throughout the day
- 4:00 PM (approx.) – Yizkor Memorial Service
- 5:00 PM - Mincha & N’eila, ending with a candlelit closing chant circle
- 7:30 PM - Potluck Break-the-Fast [dairy, vegetarian, fish]
A hypnotic closing ceremony of fire and chant at nightfall. Followed by our famous potluck dairy/veggie Break-the-Fast.

Info: Our full-day journey is deep and transformative, with times for passionate prayer, music, and opportunities for deep inner work. Soul and heart-opening practices bring us opportunities for personal renewal and healing, and renew our commitments to live in right relationship with each other and the earth. Our 4:00 PM (approx) Yizkor experience and our closing Neila candle-light chant circle when the sun sets on Saturday night – these are only two of our unique P’nai Or contributions to the power of the day ending with our potluck break-the-fast meal.
