Join us for three exciting days of outdoor painting in beautiful Historic Liberty, Missouri. This year's expanded event features three Quick Paint opportunities, a full-day of plein air competition, cash awards, purchase awards, and an evening exhibition, judging, awards reception, and artwork sale.

What is Plein Air?
"Plein Air" is a French phrase meaning "open air." Rather than painting from photographs in a studio, artists paint outdoors, capturing the light, atmosphere, and character of a place as they experience it. Every painting is an original created on location.
Throughout the event, artists will be painting in Historic Downtown Liberty, neighborhood streets, parks, and other scenic locations throughout the community.
Open to the Public
Plein Air Liberty is free for the public to enjoy!
For three days, Liberty becomes a living art studio.
Take a stroll through Historic Downtown and surrounding areas as artists set up their easels to capture the beauty and character of our community. Watch original paintings come to life, visit with the artists, learn about the plein air process, and experience Liberty from a whole new perspective.
Be sure to explore our wonderful local shops, restaurants, coffee houses, and historic sites while you're here.
A separate Facebook Event for the Saturday evening Exhibition, Awards Reception, and Artwork Sale at The Artisan Market will be posted approximately one month before the event. We hope you'll join us for both experiences!
