Plein Air contest is an opportunity for artists to create artwork that is inspired by and created solely, at the Walworth County Fair. All artwork must embody the Plein Air spirit by capturing the light, mood and atmosphere of the moment. This competition is open to all!

๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ƒ๐ž๐š๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž: All registrations must be postmarked by Thursday, August 13, 2026.
๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐€๐ซ๐ญ๐ฐ๐จ๐ซ๐ค: Artists will be notified if their artwork is sold. All purchased paintings will stay on exhibit for the complete run of The Walworth County Fair which closes on Monday, September 7, 2026.
๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ: The Walworth County Fair will retain a 30% commission on all paintings sold during the Walworth County Fair. Artist payment will be mailed to the address provided at registration within four weeks following the end of the Walworth County Fair.

๐ŸŽจArtists must have and use their own supplies.
๐ŸŽจEach painting must be created entirely on-site at the Walworth County Fair within the ticketed area of the Fairgrounds on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 9:00 AM and may continue until 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday, September 4, 2026.
๐ŸŽจArtists may submit up to two paintings in the event.
๐ŸŽจArtwork ๐Œ๐”๐’๐“ be framed.
๐ŸŽจArtists must paint in the ticketed area of the Fairgrounds. Only areas open to the public are available to artists. In addition, artists can only paint in buildings open to the public during hours of operation. A map marked with the areas will be provided to registered artists in the informational packet that will be mailed.
A painting will be disqualified for judging if the artist:
โ›”Is found using a photographic device or photos on their easel
โ›”Is not within the ticketed area of the Walworth County Fairgrounds.
โ›”Intentionally impedes the sightlines of other artists.
Artists will be responsible for framing their artwork. All artwork must be turned in by 1:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026.
