About this Event
Community Improv Workshop
Whether you've lost a loved one or are affected by communal loss, grief can be painful, unpredictable, and absurd. Sometimes we need to laugh at the wild impossibility of our constantly changing world and our utter lack of control. There are many ways to care for yourself while grieving, and even though play and joy may sometimes seem out of reach, they can open doors to mindfulness, pleasure, and connection (with folks both living and dead). Play, specifically, invites taking on new perspectives and encouraging resilience, while making space for all emotions to be present.
Join us and The Death Network of San Diego as we guide you through a series of improv games to hold, explore, and play with our grief. Each game will be followed by space for reflection and conversation to explore what is coming up for us.
Bring a journal or something to write with! Show up as you are - no need to be “on” or perform any emotion you are not feeling.
Who it’s for: Anyone looking for a new way to move through their grief!
Skills Focus: Mindfulness, connection with self and others, finding play and joy.
At Kaleidoscope Training Center, we know that the most effective learning experiences are rooted in playfulness. Our training programs integrate the principles of improvisation to develop invaluable skills such as effective communication, resilience, creativity and connection, both in personal and professional settings. Backed by extensive research, we design programs that leverage the proven power of improvisational play to help you reach your goals.
