Join us for a playgroup at Nicholls Community House, designed specifically for parents/carers with children aged 0-5 who might be neurodivergent, such as those with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or are experiencing any developmental delays. We know how important it is to find a place where your child—and you—feel understood and supported, and we believe this playgroup could be exactly what you need. This playgroup is part of our new NEIST program—Neurodevelopment Early Intervention Support and Training.
What Makes Our Playgroup Special:
🎨 Tailored Play for Every Child: We understand that every child is unique in how they play and interact with others. That’s why we offer a balanced mix of interactive and parallel play, allowing children to engage at their own pace. Whether they prefer playing alongside others without pressure or are ready to interact, our activities help them feel successful and confident.
📚 Learning Made Fun: Through simple, engaging activities, your child will learn without even realising it! We focus on natural learning—whether it’s exploring colours with red paint and playdough or enjoying story time and free play. Our routine is predictable, which helps reduce uncertainty, but we also keep things exciting with small variations, like different themed play stations each week.
🤗 A Warm, Supportive Space: We know mainstream playgroups can sometimes be challenging, and that’s why we’ve created this group as a safe, welcoming space for everyone. Whether your child is shy, socially hesitant, or reacts differently in certain situations, you’ll find understanding and support here. Our playgroup is a place where parents can relax, connect with others, and feel reassured that their child is in a caring environment.
🌟 Led by Expertise: Our facilitator, Fiona, brings over 20 years of experience working with neurodivergent children. With a background in psychology and early intervention, Fiona is dedicated to creating a positive, play-based learning environment where your child can thrive. Her approach is focused on positive reinforcement and gentle guidance, ensuring that every child feels supported and engaged.
