Help us celebrate Nature Right Here in September with a special Play Today in partnership with Parks for Pollinators and the National Parks and Recreation Association!
Saturday, September 6 will be a special Play Today at Adventure World Playground, 7451 Starnes Rd from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will include a BIOBLITZ! Special Nature Walk to participate in the Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz will leave from the pavilion at 10 a.m.
LOCATION UPDATE: The BioBlitz has changed to Adventure World Playground on Saturday, September 6. Meet at the pavilion.
A BioBlitz is where community members work with park staff to create a snapshot of the variety of wildlife that can be found near Adventure World. We will use an app, called iNaturalist, to take pictures of plants, insects and animals to see what wildlife is present in Nature Right Here on this day and provide us with more information about pollinators, which are essential to our ecosystem. We will load our findings up into the app to participate in BioBlitzs all around the country!
The morning will include a nature walk, and giveaways! Bring your phone to load up our findings. All ages are welcome!
This information will help us understand how we can better protect pollinators and other important wildlife in our community.
