About this Event
The Positive Coaching Workshops are part of the Miami Beach Youth Sports & Wellness Festival and are designed to support coaches, parents, and young athletes in creating a more positive, supportive, and impactful youth sports experience.
Led in partnership with Positive Coaching Alliance, these interactive sessions focus on building confidence, strengthening communication, and fostering a culture where effort, growth, and character development are just as important as performance.
Workshops are offered for coaches, as well as for parents and athletes to attend together, helping align everyone around a shared approach to youth sports.
Participants will leave with practical tools and strategies they can immediately apply to create a more positive and empowering sports environmentโon the field and beyond.

Developing Youth Competitors Through Positive Coaching
Host: Presented by Positive Coaching Alliance
Info: This highly interactive workshop helps coaches build a positive youth sports culture where athletes feel safe, seen, heard, and valued while still developing as competitors. Grounded in research and real coaching experience, the session covers key Positive Coaching Alliance principles including building trusting relationships, the ELM Tree of Mastery, Filling Emotional Tanks, and Honoring the Game. Coaches will leave with practical tools they can apply right away and earn recognition as a PCA-Certified Positive Coach.

The session also focuses on empathy, athlete mental wellness, and creating a sense of belonging within the team community.

Through movement-based games and guided activities, participants will practice bouncing back from mistakes, encouraging others, and honoring the game through positivity and sportsmanship. This session is designed to help young athletes strengthen themselves, their teammates, and the game.
