Play Therapy 101

Join us for an engaging, hands-on day exploring the power of Play Therapy. Participants will experience expressive play while learning foundational principles, key theories, and the importance of relationship and presence in the therapeutic process. We’ll explore both directive and non-directive approaches and discuss how play therapy can be used with individuals, families, groups, children, adolescents, and even adults.
Participants will:
Identify the therapeutic powers and benefits of play
Understand core values, beliefs, and foundational theories of play therapy
Explore the directive–non-directive continuum
Learn how to set up play therapy spaces and introduce play therapy to clients and families
Practice creative, expressive interventions and discuss how to process them effectively
Come ready to learn, play, and leave with practical tools you can immediately apply in your clinical work.
