LET'S PLAY!-
Play is joy! Melissa will guide you on a journey to expand your imagination and find play in the mundane.
This workshop will:
- give a taste of introduction to clown/play work
- teach you how to incorporate clown elements into your performances - whether solo and/or in group
- give tools to heighten play using physicality (within your capacities)
- explore the magic of tapping into the every day small joys!

PRE-REQUISITES: Some improv, clown or sketch comedy performance experience is beneficial but not required.
Suitable for improvisors, stand-ups looking to explore their stage presence, sketch comedians or anyone that wants to add a little more joy into their day-to-day.

Melissa (she/her) is a clown, writer, comedian and artist based in Montreal. Melissa is healthily obsessed with clown work and has run this workshop in Montreal and Toronto, ...because of said healthy obsession.
Melissa is a comedy show producer (The Service & co-producer of This & That: An Improv & Sketch Comedy Show) and was a behind-the-scenes supporter of Ladyfest Montreal ('22, '23 & '24).
She performed her clown act Real Live Doll at Montreal Sketchfest 2024, at "Voix de Ville" at the Wiggle Room in Montreal, and "Real Live Doll: A Work-in-Progress Show" in Toronto in August 2024.
She has studied clown and idiot work with Ken Hall, Isaac Kessler, Kevin Krieger, John Gilkey, Amrita Dhaliwal & Gemma Soldati.
Melissa has extensive training in improv from Second City Training Centre (Toronto), Bad Dog Theatre Company (Toronto), The Assembly (Toronto) and Montreal Improv.
