This hands-on CNC training is designed to show participants how to use the tool safely and efficiently. We will go through the fabrication steps from drawing to cutting a wooden piece.

If you have never used vector graphics before, we recommend that you take the introductory class before taking this course:

Theoretical Elements:

• CNC specific features
• Necessary tools
• Router usage
• Types of bits
• Materials characteristics
• Types of useful softwares
• Preparation for cutting
• Types of cuts
• Theory of technical drawing
• Previewing the cut

Practical Elements :

• Creation of a vector drawing on Easel (importing an image or svg)
• Import of technical drawing
• Preparation of materials
• Preparation of the CNC
• Cutting
• Cleaning the machine

After the workshop, the participant will be able to :

Use the LESPACEMAKER CNC machine, as a member. This includes : preparing your own vectorial files, the materials and the machine, executing a cut, and cleaning the machine.

List of materials provided with registration:

All of the materials are provided for the training, except the mandatory clothing and safety accessories.

However, it is strongly recommended to bring your laptop (with wifi and USB port) if you have one with an Easel Inventables account.

• DO NOT wear loose clothing, gloves, ties, scarves, rings, bracelets or other jewelry that could become entangled in the moving parts of a machine
