Join pioneering clown teacher, theatre director and author, John Wright for weekend workshop exploring the basics of his approach to clown.
The course is designed to explore clown play. What is it? What can we do with it? And how can we inspire and develop it in theatre making?

You can clown with anything that appeals to you. Clowning establishes a liberating state of mind and a unique relationship with performance and the audience you're working with that you can to take directly to devising and theatre making.

Play & the Pleasure Principle is an entirely practical course based on a wide variety of games, interactions and exercises. You learn what you do and you do what you learn.

The idea is to give you seeds that you can plant for your self in your own practice and cultivate to suit your own taste bin the future.
This workshop is for performers and non-performers. People interested in laughter, play and connection with others.

WHAT OTHERS SAY:
"John creates an engaged and judgement free atmosphere in order for you to explore and play freely. I gained so much confidence from the workshop and tools to take forward in my practice. I look forward to joining in one of his sessions again."
