Plant Pot Workshop with Stitched Ceramics

To build your plant pot we will use a white stoneware clay which is both water tight and robust when fired in Cath's Kiln. We will roll out the clay and add texture and pattern to the surface before cutting with a readymade templet. The clay will then be formed round a former to create to shape of a plant pot.
If you’ve ever been put off trying ceramics by the need to master a pottery wheel, fear not. This is a relaxed workshop, in which you’ll use Catherine’s current favourite technique - hand building, using slabs of hand-rolled clay and imprinting techniques.
You will select your glaze and then your plant pot will be taken back to the Cath Ball's home studio in the small village of Thursby, near Carlisle, where it will be expertly glazed and carefully fired. Your mug will then returned to the makers mill ready for you to collect.
Please note there is a £25 material cost payable to the tutor on the day. This covers the cost of firing and glazing your pot following the workshop.
Included in your workshop is tea and coffee for the duration and homemade cake.
