Natural plant dyeing workshop will help you to really connect with the plants that grow around us, learning about the history of plant dyeing in Scotland.
We teach you which plants can be foraged or grown in our local landscape and how they can create a range of colours to dye wools and other fibres.
Learn about mordants and modifiers and become aquatinted with our wonderful array of native plants.
A one-day workshop will focus on plants in season to dye. How to preserve the plant materials to dye ‘out of season’. How to prepare your fabrics and wools to achieve colour and lightfast results.
We will work both indoors and outdoors for this workshop, please bring an apron. All other materials will be supplied. Bring a packed lunch, refreshments available throughout the day.
Limited spaces - please email me for to book or ask any questions.
