PLACEMENT AUDITIONS: Las Vegas Youth Jazz Orchestra Fall Semester 2026 - JAZZ OUTREACH INITIATIVE

In its 6th year, the Las Vegas Youth Jazz Orchestra is comprised of students of all ages and abilities who have a demonstrated interest in learning and performing jazz.
Renowned local nonprofit, Jazz Outreach Initiative presents students with the opportunity to work alongside professional mentors, educators, and even some of the world's elite jazz artists in weekly rehearsals, jazz language classes, arranging and composition classes, masterclasses and clinics, and more.
A select subset set will also receive dedicated instruction in band leadership as a member of the LVYJO Jazz Messengers Combo which is hired throughout the semester to perform professional paid performances.
The semester concludes with a fall concert in December and a professional studio recording session.
Juniors and Seniors can receive NSHE College Credit for their semester(s) and several graduates have been accepted on scholarship to prestigious music schools such as UNLV, Julliard, Peabody, USC, Michigan, and others.
IMPORTANT: EVERYONE WHO AUDITIONS WILL BE SEATED AND WILL PLAY. No one is turned away from this program!
