About this Event

From Antarctica to Cuba and Egypt to Japan – join Auckland Libraries Heritage Collections’ staff in an up-close session with rare books exploring different parts of our planet. The books on show feature outstanding examples of nineteenth century chromolithography, an early 2000s winner of the World’s Best Photography book, illustrated Japanese fairy tales and a concertina style private press book exploring First Nations culture in Australia. Learn more about these treasured books and enjoy being able to browse them in person.

These Thursday afternoon sessions run right after the Notes on Tāmaki concert. It’s the perfect midday outing: live music and a rare opportunity to discover the remarkable stories held within our collections.

Notes on Tāmaki concerts: 12.10 to 1 pm
Piringatahi: 2- 3 pm

All welcome | Bookings required.
