Join us for a fun, hands-on evening celebrating one of the easiest (and tastiest) ways to preserve the seasons.
Hosted by the wonderful Iona of Burren Balsamics, this interactive masterclass will introduce you to the world of quick pickling using their award-winning white balsamic condiments. You'll discover how different flavour profiles work with a variety of vegetables, learn the simple science behind successful pickles, and gain the confidence to create your own at home.
After a guided tasting and live demonstration, you'll head to the pickle bar to build two jars of your own bespoke pickles, choosing from a selection of seasonal vegetables, white balsamic condiments and aromatics including herbs, spices and chilli. You'll also enjoy tastings of ready-made pickles and leave with plenty of inspiration for your own kitchen.
During the evening you'll:
- Enjoy a guided tasting of Burren Balsamics' white balsamic range.
- Learn the fundamentals of quick refrigerator pickling.
- Discover how to balance acidity, sweetness and aromatics.
- Create and label two jars of your own pickles to take home.
- Taste a selection of finished pickles and serving ideas.
