Join author and internationally respected pedagogue Katherine Fisher as she provides an overview of this highly acclaimed piano series that is revolutionizing piano teaching and learning around the world.
Notice:
- This workshop is a live-streamed session connecting America and Singapore through Yamaha’s Disklavier technology. As Katherine leads the class from the United States, her playing is transmitted in real time to the Disklavier DC7 at Yamaha Thomson, allowing participants to experience every detail of her touch and demonstrating technique and playing the piano, as if she is right here with us.

Speaker's Bio:
Katherine Fisher serves on the piano faculty of the Ohio University School of Music in Athens, Ohio. She teaches applied piano and piano pedagogy, coordinates the group piano program, and mentors graduate teacher assistants.
Katherine is internationally recognized in the field of piano pedagogy as a creator of the innovative method Piano Safari. Along with co-author Julie Knerr Hague, she has published well over one hundred books and pedagogical materials. The Piano Safari method and its supplemental teaching material is distributed throughout the world and is used by thousands of piano teachers and students.
A Yamaha Artist, Katherine is a member of the Fisher Piano Duo with husband Christopher Fisher. The duo has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe. They are co-authors of the revised and expanded edition of Piano Duet Repertoire (Indiana University Press, 2016)
A native of Ohio, Katherine received her degrees from the University of Oklahoma (MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy) and the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music (BM in Piano Performance). Her former teachers include Jeongwon Ham, Jane Magrath, Barbara Fast, Karin R. Edwards, and Nancy Bachus.
