About this Event

Great portraits don't just document a person, they make you feel something. In this hands-on intensive, Chloe Ramirez breaks down her approach to edgy, emotionally charged portraiture: how to see light, how to direct a subject, and how to make an image that actually has a pulse.

Chloe opens with a focused teaching session on the craft and creative thinking behind portraits that stop people mid-scroll. Then she demos live on fully styled sets with models, so you see exactly how she works before you pick up your camera.

Then it's your turn to shoot. Rotate through the edgy styled sets and shoot while Chloe instructs and gives direct, in-the-moment feedback on your images. Come ready to create!

You'll leave with a stronger command of portrait lighting, a clearer eye for directing subjects, and a handful of images with some real attitude.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR - CHLOE RAMIREZ

Chloe Ramirez is an award winning photographer, creative director, and educator known for crafting cinematic, emotionally charged imagery that feels as bold as it is intimate. Based in California, Chloe’s work has been featured by Nikon, Profoto, Worlds Best Wedding Photos,  Rangefinder Magazine and she’s been invited to speak on some of the industry’s biggest stages including WPPI, BILD Expo, Click Away, Reset and Shutterfest.

With a career built on storytelling and rule breaking, Chloe is redefining what it means to photograph love, connection, and identity. Her signature approach blends editorial edge with raw emotion, capturing images that feel more like frames from a film than traditional portraits.
