Phil Cook in Concert for Literacy

Phil Cook returns to the Chippewa Valley for a solo concert at the Masonic Temple in downtown Eau Claire, and half of every ticket goes directly to Literacy Chippewa Valley.
A Chippewa Falls native and UW-Eau Claire graduate, Cook helped found DeYarmond Edison, the Eau Claire band whose members went on to form Bon Iver and Megafaun. He has played in Gayngs and The Shouting Matches, and has recorded and toured with Hiss Golden Messenger, Mavis Staples, The Blind Boys of Alabama, and Waxahatchee. His latest album, Appalachia Borealis, was recorded at April Base outside Eau Claire and produced by Justin Vernon. The Current calls him one of indie folk's most thoughtful and soulful voices.

WHY Literacy Chippewa Valley is celebrating 40 years of free adult literacy services in our community, including one-on-one tutoring, English language classes, GED and HSED preparation, family literacy, senior digital literacy, and education programs inside our county jails. Half of every ticket sold supports that work.
