Blackwillow Starling
Milwaukee-based Nora and Michael “Tinker” Tierney weave British, Celtic, and American folk traditions into songs of nature, spirit, old magic, and the turning of the seasons. Their richly textured acoustic melds stirring vocal harmonies with their haunting weave of strings and percussion.
So whether you're already a devoted follower of Pagan music, love traditional Celtic and British folk, want to explore sacred chanting, or simply appreciate beautiful voices and finely crafted acoustic music with our local folk, this will be a singularly special evening.

No singing experience is necessary! Just bring your voice. We’ll be guided by their talented instruction in weaving sacred sound together. This is a healing experience in joining your voice to something larger than yourself.

PART TWO: BLACKWILLOW STARLING — LIVE IN CONCERT
5:30 - 6:45 p.m. | The Banbury Museum
As the October evening deepens, Blackwillow Starling settles in again for songs of nature and storytelling with old-world instruments, haunting voices, and their beautiful spirits.
Nora brings a classically trained voice and a deep connection with the sacred natural world. Michael brings strong Celtic roots, imaginative arrangements, and decades of performance experience. Together, their harmonies, storytelling, humor, and acoustic instrumentation create something that feels intimate and timeless.
A Bit About Blackwillow Starling:
Voted 2025 Pagan Band of the Year by the International Pagan Music Association, Blackwillow Starling has quickly become a beloved presence in both the Pagan and contemporary folk music worlds. Since their debut in 2024, they've appeared at Pagan Spirit Gathering, the International Pagan Music Awards, Florida Pagan Gathering, Chrysalis Moon, WinterStar, Paganicon, Starwood Festival, and more. They are also regular musical presenters for Circle Sanctuary's Full Moon broadcasts.
Their music moves between original Pagan folk and traditional British and Celtic songs, carrying listeners through woodland, moonlight, fire, harvest, and the darker passages of the Wheel of the Year.
Their second album, Thornaeppel, released in May 2026, continues that journey through thirteen songs of luminous originals and traditional material.
Gather with us to welcome this incredible duo, enjoy sacred and timeless harmonies, and weave camaraderie with the Moon Bees community on October 7th!
