Learn the vital life saving skills needed to help your pet in an emergency by joining us for a Pet CPR & First Aid class on July 20th from 10am-12:30pm at the Bethel Fire Department. This training is designed for anyone with an interest in "pawtecting" the safety and wellness of canine/feline pets. The course content is delivered through a combination of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on skills practice. In this 2.5 hour class, you'll learn some lifesaving practices to help save your pet in emergency situations:
Hands-on Skills Practice
• Emergency Muzzling and Restraint Techniques
• Vital Signs Assessment
• CPR (Canine and Feline, all size pets)
• Choking Management (Conscious and Unconscious)
• Bleeding Control Techniques
Lecture Portion
• Proactive Safety and Wellness for Pets
• Scene Safety/Hazard Mitigation
• Medical Emergencies (Seizures, "Bloat")
• Poisoning Emergencies
• Environmental Emergencies
Students are provided with a detailed handbook, certificate of completion (valid for two years), and an emergency muzzle.
