About this Event
Perspectives Over Pints is a monthly lecture series exploring the intersection of Utah and contemporary culture — from environment to industry to public life. Doors open at 6 and lecture starts promptly at 7 pm.
In this chapter we'll discuss, Your Yard as Resistance: Gardening for Collective Impact.
Join us to learn about staying engaged in activism, conservation, and community through collective joy and found purpose. Daryl will talk about ways to use your yard & garden to protect our native ecosystems and power social change.
Our featured speaker is Daryl Lindsey, the founder & principal designer of YardFarmer. She is a life-long lover of plants and wildlife. Like many who live in the Salt Lake Valley, Daryl's anxiety about the state of the Great Salt Lake spurred her to find meaning in action. Enter YardFarmer, a sustainable design studio centered on native plants and water conservation. Since opening for business, YardFarmer has designed more than 300 native, waterwise landscapes, saving over 10 million gallons of water. Daryl has certifications in Permaculture Design and Rainwater Harvesting Design.
This is a ticketed event and will take place at Fisher Brewing Company 320 W 800 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84101. You must be 21+ to attend.
